Appearance
The German Angora is a medium sized cat with a rectangular, rather stocky body. The hair of the German Angora is a silky coat with little undercoat, with an abundant collar and a tail furnished with long hair. German Angoras come in all conceivable colors, point (partial albinism) is also permitted. The German Angora has green eyes (with the exception of the Points, which of course have blue eyes).
Character
The German Angora is a lively, sociable cat. She is also characterized by a very people-oriented nature. The German Angora remains playful and active into old age. She likes to live in a group and therefore should not be kept as a single cat. To date, no breed-related diseases are known in the German Angora.
Origin
The German Angora would be bred from the last semi-longhaired domestic cats, which in Germany still on lonely farms partly already for generations was native. The name “German Angora cat” is protected and may only be used by breeders of the 1st GACC.
